Guppy Synopsis


Guppy is the nickname of a village lad (Master Chetan) who makes a living by rearing and selling guppy fish, a kind of cheap fish. He has only his ailed mother (Rohini) whom he has to take care of.


Guppy has a number of friends – Abu, Christi, Jaffer, and Pappoi. Together they do many mischievous activities. The arrival of Tejas Varkey (Tovino Thomas) creates great issues in the village. Tejas is an engineer who comes to the town to supervise the construction of a bridge. The intriguing issues between Guppy and Tejas Varkey form the rest of the plot of ‘Guppy’.


‘Guppy’ is the debut directorial venture of John Paul George. The script is also penned by the director. Sreenivasan, Dileesh Pothen, Alansiar, Sudheer Karamana, Noby, Shohaib Khan, Sudhi Koppa, Chembil Asokan, Poojappura Ravi, Vijilesh, and Devi Ajith also include the cast.


The cinematography is done by Girish Gangadharan. Vishnu Vijay is the music director. ‘Guppy’ is produced by Mukesh R Mehta under the banner of E 4 Entertainment in association with Yopa Productions.
